New Lens Is Here!!

Well the new lens is here. The Canon 24-70 f/2.8 L is awesome! I haven't had a lot of time to take very many shots with it, but I'm sure I'll be using it plenty. Because the weather has been so cold, and not to mention the 12 inches of snow we got yesterday, I haven't been able to go outside and shoot as much as I'd like. But the other side of that coin is that I can stay inside and work on some lighting techniques. Kinda hard when you only have one flash, but I work with what I got. So I took a few self portraits with some natural lighting and some fill lighting. I posted a few of my favorites below.

My 1st blog!

Well here's my first entry into my blog. The new camera (Canon EOS 50D) just arrived yesterday! It's amazing! I know it's not a "full framer." But it's plenty of camera for me and I'm glad I opted to go with it instead of the 40. It's a fantastic piece of equipment that I can only hope I use to it's full potential. "If you have the means. I highly recommend you pick one up." The weather here has been pretty cold, with the exception of the other day (it reached 50!!), so getting out and shooting has been a little tough on the fingers and toes. So instead I'm using all this indoor time to work on my lighting skills. I guess I should say "Discover" my lighting skills. Or lack there of. I've got ol Mom's birthday party this weekend, so maybe I'll get some good shots from there. Until next time.....
