Cancun 09

So I got to go to Cancun, Mexico a few weeks ago. First time for me. Been on my list of places I wanted to see before I died. Needless to say, was really looking forward to the trip. Then, out of the blue, BAM....swine flu. WTH?!?! Well, after much consideration and looking into possible alternate destinations, we decided to suck it up and give it a shot. What's the worst that could happen?? So myself, my lovely girlfriend Amber, my brother and his lovely wife Sarah boarded our flights to Mexico. 

It was AWESOME! There was no one there!! Which made for a very relaxing trip. Just what I needed. And of course I found some time to squeeze in picture taking time. Here are just a few with these super hot models I found walking down the beach. Enjoy.

Eston and Audrey

WOW! So apparently it's been awhile since I've blogged. Well I've actually had some work coming in so now I have some stuff to post up. Some from clients, some from my worldly travels. These are from my shoot with Eston and Audrey.  These two were a blast to shoot. Eston was SOOO shy when he first arrived at the park. But as soon as I pointed the camera at him, it was as if his eyes lit up! He loved having his picture taken (which makes my job SOOOOOO much easier)! I was told if was going to be tough to get pictures of Audrey, as she is always on the move. Well it turned out she liked having her picture taken too! And was very cooperative. These two made it so easy on me. Thank you so much for letting me shoot them. It was a true pleasure for me. Enjoy.

Stacy's Shoot

These shots are from the other day. Stacy was nice/patient enough to let me come over and take some shots of her and her new Harley. It went great and, like I said she was very patient, allowing me to move my lights and reposition both her and the bike. I'm really pleased with the way these came out. Station 24

Got some new pictures today. I got these from out in front of Station 24 on the cities East side as they were preparing for a retired fire fighter's funeral procession drive by. These "drive by's" are to show respect for the fallen colleague for his many years of service at station 24.

At The Fire House

So I'm at the fire house today and I thought I would mess around with some more lighting stuff. Keeping in mind I only have a limited amount of equipment, they may look a lot like the others. But like I've said in the past, I'm still learning and I gotta practice on something. So I thought I would snap a couple shots of my helmet. I think it's got a lot of character and has a TON of stories under it's bell. Well take a look and tell me what ya think. I had fun working on these and trying different effects on each one. They all seemed to work out pretty well in my opinion.

Strobist Post!!

Ok, so I've tried something new this week. I've been working on my "off camera lighting." I know...sounds REALLY cool. Ok, maybe not. But to me, it is. The bad part is...until I get it figured out the pictures are really gonna be boring. But, like I tell Carter, you gotta practice if you want to be any good. So while he sat practicing writing his name. I took pictures of M&Ms and flashlights and a few of him. Then I realized me taking pictures of a 5 year old practicing writing his letters can be a bit distracting for said 5 year old. So just to show you I am still snapping away, here are a couple of completely un retouched photos.

The first photo is a flashlight with a hard off camera flash. No diffusion. Pretty unflattering. Please note the photo below the text. BOO YAH!! Thanks Kiera.

The second photo (note it is in the center where I wanted the last one, but oh well. Still learnin!!) is the same flashlight but this time with a diffused flash, shot through a piece of writing tablet paper (guess where I got that from), and bounced off another piece of white paper. Looks much better. Still needs work. But not bad for a 1st try. The object being black and reflective doesn't help a rookie like myself either.

The third photo (WHY MY IS MY FONT BLUE???) is Carter working away on his letters. This flash was diffused and bounced off the ceiling. Not bad for a candid shot. It's a little dark, but I didn't exactly have time to adjust my flash. Still practicing.
